(More customer reviews)I've had one of these in my Z3 since 2004, and haven't gotten a ticket since I got it.
A radar detector is useless if you don't use it.I own a convertible, and knowing me, a windshield mounted unit would spend most of it's time in the trunk.The police around here use radar on surface streets more than they do on highways, so you're more likely to get a ticket on short errands around home than you are on a roadtrip.
The control unit is tiny and mounted unobtrusively on the shelf in front of my dashboard gauges.The laser detectors blend in well with my license plate frames, and the radar detector is mounted in the air intake under the grill.
The unit turns on when I insert the key, turns off when I remove it.I have it set to beep when it turns on so that I know it's on without having to look.
It's been a great investment that has paid for itself many times.CA cops don't seem to use lasers, so I don't have the laser shifter.Plus, I think it's illegal here.
