(More customer reviews)I bought this adapter so I could plug in a GPS unit and an FM transmitter for my iPod into the car's cigarette lighter socket at the same time. It works great.

From looking at the product image before I bought the adapter, I wasn't sure if it was the right adapter because the dual sockets looked a little strange in the picture. However, what you're seeing in the image are the spring-loaded safety covers. When you plug in your device, the safety cover gets pushed into the socket.

The adapter can swivel 90 degrees, which is a nice feature when you're trying to get the wires from your devices out of your way and not wrapped around the car's gear stick.

(More customer reviews)I'm not sure if there's something unusual about the cigarette lighter adapter in my Ford Escape Hybrid, but this dual outlet plug adapter didn't fit in far enough for the side contacts to touch where they needed to for the power to go through it.

It may be my particular outlet in the car, but I'd definitely check to make sure you have a fairly deep cig. lighter outlet for this to work.

The company did respond pretty quickly, but it would have cost them and me more than it was worth for a $4 item to send it back and try to get me a different one.

Handstands Jelly Sticky Pad Review

(More customer reviews)... something so small and simple and inexpensive would end up providing a good mounting surface to mount your GPS receiver to the dash?No, Handstands doesn't promote this product in that fashion (I heard it first at GPS Passion), but believe it or not, it works (I was pretty skeptical - but after reading jbb's review, I figured why not try it?)

This is a very small and thin product (so small you don't even notice it if you have a dark dash) 5.75"L x 3.75"W x 1/8" thick, and this one comes in graphite (black).And that's exactly why I like it -- it's unobtrusive.Now I don't know how it would work for a larger, heavier GPS with a heavier and longer mount, but for my Nuvi 260 (which is less than 6 oz and comes with a really tiny ball mount), it works like a charm.I could have even gotten a smaller pad, and it probably would have worked just fine.

Obviously, if it works as a GPS mounting surface, it no doubt works for its intended purpose (cell phones, iPods, glasses, etc., -- I wouldn't know first-hand).But a word of caution.It would be advisable not to keep it on your dash month after month (natural bleaching of the dash by the sun could leave your dash with an outline of the pad).Just move it around every once and awhile.

Seems rather silly to give such a simple and inexpensive product 5 stars (or this long of a review), but since it does what it isn't even advertised to do, I'll give it 9 out of 10 and a 5-star rating.Now I don't know how this product will perform over time, but since it's easy to take off and clean, I don't see why it shouldn't last for years (but if it doesn't, I'm only out 6 bucks).

EDIT:Handsprings has changed the top surface texture of their sticky pads!I just purchased a second one (my original, I left at a friends house in D.C. -- and I live in SoCal).This new product is NOT the same.It can no longer be used as a GPS mount.Because of this, ignore the review above.The entire pad is less "sticky" than the original, and because of this, it deserves an average rating and not 5 stars.

(More customer reviews)I bought this because the item description specifically stated that it would work with the iPhone 3G. The charger is reasonably priced and it shipped quickly - but it doesn't work with the iPhone 3Gs. When connected I get an error message and neither the wall unit or car adapter will charge the iPhone. From doing some further searching on the internet, I found that Apple has apparently changed the method of charging from the firewire (12V) pins on the docking connector to the USB power (5V) pins and also requires that the USB data sense pins have the correct voltage as well. The bottom line is that most of the adapters originally made for the iPod or earlier versions of the iPhone are not compatible with the iPhone 3Gs.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this to help in installing a new 5 LNB DirecTV dish.What I found is that there are apparently so many satellites up there now that I got lots of indications before finding the proper DirecTV location.The sensitivity of the Meter is too wide to be of any use for other than initial location.I could not do the necessary fine tuning in three dimensions other than the old fashioned way using the TV and as a result several of the HD channels do not come in well.Even at the low cost, it really didn't provide enough assistance to justify the purchase.

We own a Garmin Nuvi 350, Magellan Maestro and a TomTom One and this mount works well with all of them, even with our aggressive driving style in a Lotus Elise sports car !We have tried both the Garmin Friction Mount as well as the Bracketron Nav-Mat beanbag mounts and found this Gilsson mount to be most stable for several reasons: (1) This Gilsson Mount is heavier than Nav-Mat and Garmin Mounts, (2) Gilsson Mount is square-shape, allowing one to point the corners of the mount toward the windshield and the driver, thereby creating a longer "moment arm", effectively making the mount to be more stable and less likely to tilt or fall off the dashboard (3) The non-skid material surface area on the Gilsson mount is larger than Garmin and Nav-Mat mounts, thereby making it even more resistant to skidding and sliding.One of our friends has a Toyota Prius with slanted dashboard and have had no problems with this Gilsson mount staying at the same spot.This mount is made of high quality and durable neoprene / wet-suit material, I am sure you will be very happy with it !

(More customer reviews)I received this for a birthday gift (that I picked out), and I can not tell it from a new one. I even got the latest map update! Not sure if that was luck or not, but I'm not complaining. I've had two other Tomtom's, and they work fine for me, although the Garmin's do have a better looking interface. I drive a semi, and although this does not have truck routes, if you use some common sense you'll do just fine.
The lane guidance is nice, as is the junction view (although a little gimmicky). I've even found the pronunciation of street names to be quite good, unlike what some others have said (even does a good job of saying "Puyallup"!).
I can easily recommend this product, especially at this price for a 5" unit.

Do yourself a favor and get the ARKON TTEP115 TomTom EasyPort Windshield / Dash Mount to replace the near useless mount that comes with this model, though!

(More customer reviews)This splitter is HEAVY and bulky.But if located correctly, these are advantages.I was using all 4 outlets with multiple swaps going on all day by people from different angles in the van, and there was never a problem with intermitant contact or loose contacts.I attribute that to the heavy casing and the heavy outlets.The only caution are the two tabs used to attach the splitter.They appear to be undersized if the splitter is hung.I used both the provided double-sided tape and the tabs to hang my splitter - it is quite stable.

(More customer reviews)I've had one of these in my Z3 since 2004, and haven't gotten a ticket since I got it.

A radar detector is useless if you don't use it.I own a convertible, and knowing me, a windshield mounted unit would spend most of it's time in the trunk.The police around here use radar on surface streets more than they do on highways, so you're more likely to get a ticket on short errands around home than you are on a roadtrip.

The control unit is tiny and mounted unobtrusively on the shelf in front of my dashboard gauges.The laser detectors blend in well with my license plate frames, and the radar detector is mounted in the air intake under the grill.

The unit turns on when I insert the key, turns off when I remove it.I have it set to beep when it turns on so that I know it's on without having to look.

It's been a great investment that has paid for itself many times.CA cops don't seem to use lasers, so I don't have the laser shifter.Plus, I think it's illegal here.

Errors in accurately projecting ball flight (left shows right and right is shown as left) is a recurring problem that has existed for some time and the company has not corrected.You can see evidence of this issue by viewing the videos on u-tube.There have been and continue to be issues with accuracy of calculations. A recent software "upgrade" caused out of memory problems for a number of users. Before purchasing a Pure Launch I would check with the Zelocity Users group at Google groups to see if the company's customer service has improved.My overall experience has been quite negative.
